What are your returns telling you?

Amazon writes down why every unit comes back, in a report most sellers never open. Drop that report below and read what your buyers have been telling you.

getting started, five minutes in Seller Central

  1. The returns history (required). Go to Reports > Fulfillment > Customer Concessions > FBA customer returns. Open the Download tab, set the event date range as wide as it offers you, at least the last 90 days, request the download, and keep the file exactly as Amazon gives it to you. One quirk worth knowing: each return is dated by the day the warehouse received the unit back, not the day the buyer asked.
  2. The order history (optional, adds return rates). Go to Reports > Fulfillment > Sales > All Orders. Each request covers up to 30 days; grab two or three back-to-back pulls if you want a longer window. With this loaded, every SKU gets a return rate and a comparison against your own catalog average, so you can see which products return abnormally often, not just often.
  3. Drop everything below in one go, in any order. The tool works out which file is which. Nothing you drop here leaves your browser.

Reason meanings verified against Amazon's return reason codes as of July 26, 2026. Rates are approximate by nature: returns lag the orders they belong to, so treat any rate here as a health indicator, not accounting. Files parse in your browser; nothing uploads anywhere.
